Rejuran vs Profhilo: which skin booster is right for you? If you know Profhilo from the UK, Europe or Singapore and are now hearing about Rejuran in Korea, this guide compares the two side by side — what they are made of, how they work, how they feel, what recovery looks like, and which concerns each one suits best.
International patients often ask us:
“Is Rejuran the same as Profhilo?”
“Which is better for fine lines and texture?”
“If I have had Profhilo at home, should I try Rejuran in Seoul?”
The short answer: they are different products with different ingredients. Rejuran is based on PN (polynucleotide), purified from salmon DNA, and focuses on skin repair — texture, fine lines, pores and thin under-eye skin. Profhilo is based on a high concentration of hyaluronic acid and focuses on deep hydration and overall skin quality. Neither is a filler. At The H Faceup Clinic, Rejuran is the only skin booster we use — we chose it as the most proven option — and we mainly use Rejuran HB plus, which adds hydration and is more comfortable. Which treatment suits you is decided at an in-person consultation.
What is Profhilo?
Profhilo is an injectable skin booster made by IBSA, a Swiss pharmaceutical company. According to IBSA’s product information, each 2ml syringe contains 64mg of hyaluronic acid — one of the highest concentrations of any injectable — combining high- and low-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid.
Profhilo is usually injected with the BAP technique: 5 points on each side of the face, 10 in total. The gel spreads under the skin to hydrate it and improve overall skin quality. The standard protocol is 2 sessions about 4 weeks apart.
What is Rejuran?

Rejuran is a skin booster developed in Korea by PharmaResearch. Its key ingredient is PN, fragments of DNA purified from salmon. PN is highly compatible with human tissue and supports the skin’s own repair — helping fibroblasts rebuild collagen and elastin, calming irritated skin, and improving the skin’s foundation.
Rejuran is injected point by point across the treated area. Rejuran HB plus, which we use for the face, also contains hyaluronic acid for hydration and lidocaine for comfort. Read more in our guide What Is Rejuran?
Rejuran vs Profhilo: how do they compare?

| Rejuran HB plus | Profhilo |
|---|
| Key ingredient | PN (salmon DNA) + hyaluronic acid + lidocaine | High-concentration hyaluronic acid (64mg / 2ml) |
| Main action | Supports skin repair and regeneration | Deep hydration and overall skin quality |
| How it is injected | Point by point across the area, by hand | 10 points (BAP technique) |
| Under the eyes | Commonly used for thin under-eye skin | Standard BAP points do not include the under-eye |
| After treatment | Small bumps settle within a week; redness or small bruises within 1–2 weeks | Small bumps at the 10 points, usually short-lived |
| Is it a filler? | No | No |
Rejuran recovery is based on our clinic’s aftercare guide. Profhilo details are based on IBSA product information. Individual results and recovery vary.
Which is better for fine lines, texture and pores?
In the Rejuran vs Profhilo question, the deciding factor is usually your main concern. If your main concerns are fine lines, rough or uneven texture, enlarged pores or skin that feels thin and easily irritated, Rejuran is often the more targeted choice, because PN works on the skin’s repair rather than adding hydration alone. Being injected point by point also means the depth, spacing and amount can be adjusted for each area — the eyes, cheeks and forehead individually.
If your main concern is dryness and an overall dull, tired look, both can help, and Rejuran HB plus also contains hyaluronic acid for an immediate boost of hydration.

Which is better under the eyes?
The skin under the eyes is very thin, and it is one of the most common reasons people choose Rejuran. Rejuran HB plus can be placed carefully, point by point, in this delicate area, and the lidocaine keeps it comfortable. The standard Profhilo BAP points focus on the cheeks, jawline and lower face rather than the under-eye area.
What if my real concern is sagging?
Neither Rejuran nor Profhilo is a lifting treatment. If your main concern is sagging along the jawline or cheeks, a skin booster alone will not change the framework of the face. In that case Thermage FLX — or Thermage and Rejuran together, which is our most chosen combination — is usually a better plan. See Thermage and Rejuran on the Same Day.

I have had Profhilo before. Can I have Rejuran in Seoul?
Rejuran vs Profhilo is not always an either-or choice over time. Many patients who have had Profhilo at home try Rejuran when they visit Korea. We do not offer Profhilo — Rejuran is the only skin booster we use — but your previous treatments are important information. Please tell Dr. Hwang what you have had and when, so the timing and plan can be decided safely at your consultation.
As with any treatment, Dr. Hwang examines your skin in person at your visit and decides the right treatment and amount with you.
Why does The H Faceup Clinic use only Rejuran?
Among the many skin boosters available, we use only one: Rejuran. We chose it because we consider it the most proven skin booster, and because PN supports the skin’s own repair rather than adding hydration alone.
■ Rejuran HB plus is our main choice
Within the Rejuran range, we mainly use Rejuran HB plus. It contains lidocaine, so it is far more comfortable than the original, and hyaluronic acid, so it adds hydration at the same time as it supports repair.
■ Rejuran Healer for the neck
Rejuran Healer, which contains PN only, is mainly used for the neck.
Focusing on one product means Dr. Hwang has placed more than 10,000cc of it by hand — and knows exactly how it behaves in each area of the face.
Why have Rejuran in Korea?

Rejuran was developed in Korea, and Korean clinics have more experience with it than anywhere else. At The H Faceup Clinic, Dr. Hwang In-sung — a Rejuran Key Doctor and Clinical Advisor — has personally administered more than 10,000cc of Rejuran by hand, and our clinic is a Rejuran SVIP clinic. Genuine products are opened in front of you.
Rejuran HB plus starts at KRW 290,000 for 1cc, and 7cc for the full face is KRW 1,750,000, VAT included. See all options on our price page. See how this compares with prices abroad in our Rejuran price guide.
