Why combine Thermage and Rejuran?
Thermage and Rejuran work at different depths of the skin, so each covers what the other cannot.
■ Thermage FLX — the deeper layers
Thermage delivers radiofrequency heat to the deep dermis and the fibrous septa of the fat layer. It firms the framework of the face and helps with sagging and a less defined contour.
■ Rejuran — the skin itself
Rejuran places PN, purified from salmon DNA, in the upper dermis. It helps with fine lines, pores, dullness and thin skin under the eyes.

Which comes first, Thermage or Rejuran?
Thermage FLX always comes first. Our clinic guidance is clear on this: Thermage is not performed within 1 week after injection treatments. If you want both, Thermage is done first, and Rejuran is injected afterwards on the same day.
This order also makes sense for the skin: Thermage firms the deeper layers first, and Rejuran then refines the surface. Dr. Hwang plans the order, depth and dosage for your face.
How long does a Thermage and Rejuran visit take?
Plan about 3 hours at the clinic in total. A typical visit looks like this:

What is recovery like after Thermage and Rejuran?
Recovery is mostly about the visible marks from Rejuran. Here is what to expect, based on the aftercare guide we give every patient:
■ Same day
You can wash your face and wear makeup. Wash gently with lukewarm water.
■ Within about a week
Small raised bumps and swelling from Rejuran are a normal reaction and settle naturally within a week.
■ Within 1 to 2 weeks
Mild redness or swelling from Thermage, and any redness or small bruises from Rejuran, recover within 1 to 2 weeks.
■ After about 2 to 3 months
Collagen renewal from Thermage reaches the point where most patients feel the full effect, and the effect lasts about 6 months to 1 year. Rejuran’s improvement in texture and hydration builds over the weeks after treatment.
Can I fly home after Thermage and Rejuran?

Book the combination 2 to 3 months before, so Thermage reaches its full effect — and at least 2 weeks before at the very latest, so bumps, redness and bruises have time to fade.

How should I prepare for Thermage and Rejuran?
These are the same instructions we give at the clinic:
• No injection treatments in the week before Thermage.
• Avoid skincare with retinol, benzoyl peroxide, hydroquinone, vitamin A or vitamin C for 1 week before.
• Stop using “Reedle Shot” or similar microneedle products 1 week before.
• Avoid aspirin for 2 weeks before Rejuran.
• If you have had an eyebrow tattoo, wait 1 to 2 weeks; after cosmetic surgery such as eyelid or nose surgery, wait at least 1 month.
• Avoid heavy drinking the night before, and drink plenty of water and rest well.
• Men should finish shaving 2 days before Thermage.
What should I avoid after Thermage and Rejuran?
• 1 week: saunas, jjimjilbang and other hot places; smoking, alcohol and hard exercise.
• Cold: even if your skin feels warm, avoid cold packs and cold-water washing.
• Moisture and sun: moisturize about 1.5 times more than usual, and wear sunscreen.
• 3 to 4 weeks: scrubs and active skincare products.
• 3 months: lymphatic or deep facial massage.
• If you notice a rash, itching or stinging after Rejuran, take the medication we prescribe and contact us.
